Lance, I'll begin with this.

In Indianapolis and beyond, the legacy of Pete Rose is a complicated one.

Is it complicated in Cincinnati or is this an individual that, you know, obviously because

as a native and somebody that was such a great player,

is there really no complication when it comes to the emotions of Cincinnati natives about Pete Rose?

It's a great question, and it's evolved.

It's, you know, he is a, he's a symbol of not just a franchise, but a city.

I mean, the west side of Cincinnati's, blue collar and hardworking and gritty hustlers and rough around the edges. And he was clearly far from perfect, but he was clearly

driven. And this city's always taken pride in his accomplishments that the rest of the world

got to see. And it was like, it was our guy. And complicated is a great word. It's like there

was a comedy romance movie 25

years ago. It's complicated and the memory is kind of what we choose it to be. And yet it's generational.

I mean, his last hit was August the 14th of 1986. That was 38 years ago. So if you're 50 and over, like me, we know and love what he was about as a player and what he meant to the big red machine.

If you're under 50, you have only lived his banishment and the scandals and fires that popped up along the way.

So it's, you know, it's a different lens for each person, how they view this story.

Lance, do you believe that some of those fires were, you know, when a player gets hurt in the NFL now,

they have that little tent, right?
