We just got done talking about what Marcus Freeman really has to answer for us moving forward in the 2026 season.

Let's dive into the weeds here and talk about the offensive side of the ball.

Now, this is a unit that's coming off of a really, really great year.

Running back won the Doke Walker

Award. Starting quarterback absolutely shattered the program record for pass a rating in a single

season. And when I mean shattered, I mean shattered it. I mean, just leaps and bounds above the two

guys that he passed up. You set a modern day record for points per game.

You set a modern day record in yards per play.

You're doing all of these things, but we're still left with some questions that this

unit, this coaching staff has to answer.

And that's where we start this conversation with the offensive coaching staff.

You know, it's interesting, Trevor,

it is wild that they just, this coaching staff on offense does not get a lot of respect.

I think there's people that respect Mike Denbrock,

but there's not a lot of people that sit there and want to argue,

hey, Mike Denbrock's an elite offensive coordinator.

And here's a perfect example. So our guys at Crane & Company, Crane and Cone, it's Crane and Cone now, did a show where they brought in a young coach, a guy that evaluates coaching. I think he's been a successful high school coach. And I'm not discouraging, disparaging the guy at all. They do a breakdown of the top five offensive minds in college football. And it's like Lincoln Riley and Steve Sarkisian and the guy at Vanderbilt.

And I can't remember who the other two were, but it was like no Mike Denbrock.

And no Mike Shanahan either, which I thought was interesting.

And I said, look, here's the list of coaches who have had a, you know, two offenses that have ranked in the top five in scoring offense and yards per play in two the last three years.
