Angeles who is mourning the Eagles this fine Monday morning but he has been kind

enough to join us for what I think is our 96th episode so we've done a ton and today

Smalls a guy within a super interesting background Chris Battola former Army

basketball player for me Army serviceman, served on Coach Kay's staff for five years of Duke and now

ESPN College Basketball Analysts, Sirius XM radio host, athletic contributor. He is everywhere basketball was found.

And Smalls was nice enough to give us about an hour and 20 minutes of his time and we covered a ton of topics.

Yeah, we really did. I think we, you know, we almost, we always joke about this, but there was like five different topics where we could have had six hour shows on each topic. That's like how much, I back and forth and we had to hold back a couple times. But it was enjoyable and I think getting a person's perspective that, you know, was in coaching, was in the highest level of coaching, and then took his career a different direction, came from the military, super unique, and his story is anything but I guess like it's just incredible what

he did and the decisions he had to make to get where he wanted to go and to be happy ultimately.

Yeah, I think that I am, just if we're looking at self-reflection for a second small is,

I think often when we prep for interviews like I we find a couple

things that we think are interesting and kind of shaped the interview around

this this was one of the first interviews where we legitimately really went in

chronological order and kind of like covered his life from you know college basketball on and it just was so

interesting to see the different sort of like twists and turns that he took and why he made those decisions.

And then we do, we cover a little bit of college basketball as well for people on here that are like,

man, you guys talk way too much.

Like we did, you know, Chris is a guy that's covered a bunch of games this year as a color guy and we did cover a bunch of stuff like who can win the title talked about, you know, the Duke freshman talked about Tennessee.

So that part of it was interesting, but I do think like from a chronological standpoint just kind of covering his life from 18 to now

Was really fascinating and and kind of listening to him and how he grew up
