I want to start by saying, you know, Pete Medhurst was a good friend of ours, and I know a good friend of yours, and that's kind of how you and I got to meet each other, and just know that we're all thinking of Pete here and always rooting for you guys because of it. Definitely. Yeah, well, I appreciate that. We sure is like messing. That's for sure.

And, you know, I'll never, we'll never score another touchdown right on here into the checkerboard ends up in his voice.

Well, Coach, we wanted to have you on.

I really enjoyed getting to talk with you last year at the touchdown club dinner, but you guys also kicked ass last year. You went 10 and 3, you beat Oklahoma in the bowl game, you win the Commanders and Chiefs trophy. How important and exciting was

last year for you to get the Navy program where you wanted to be? Yeah, I mean, it was big. Obviously, you know, what great momentum. You know, any time, you know, four hard years before that, you know, I got here in 2019, and that was year we went 11 and 2 and, you know, finished the entire 25 and won the CIC. And you know COVID struck in four years you know we really

struggled and didn't have a winning season and so you know to get things turned around was was huge

you know I think there's a psychological component to that just as much as there is getting better

in recruiting and developing your players and doing all those things. And it was rewarding. And I thought, you know, we had a team of guys the way that they work, you know, they deserved to have that kind of success. And so, you know, a lot of the was a great momentum going to the offseason. Certainly something to build on. We're on to 25 now, and since it's a new football team.

And we're trying to figure out a way to do things better than we've ever done them before,

and keep our foot on the gas.

And it's still be that team, but it's got something to prove and a chip on our shoulder.

And, you know, always something to prove and always trying to do things better than we've done them before.

I just can only imagine what your last two weeks of the season,

beaten a ranked Army team in Army Navy and then beaten Oklahoma,

especially for you, you know, where you grew up in that part of the world,

that had to be pretty sweet, man.

Pretty sweet way to end things.

It was.

Obviously, the Army game was big for us.

That's our number one goal.
