And the Oh, The the The You're not going to be here. The The night of April 14th,

of April 14th, 15th, 1912 was an eerie night on the North Atlantic,

about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland.

The ocean was untypically calm and there was no moonlight.

All was pitch black save for the twinkling of thousands of stars hanging far above in the cloudless night

and the lights of the Titanic as she listed badly to one side, now in her death throes as her hull filled with water. Her lights

were still ablaze and people could be seen hanging onto the rails, some

jumping, some falling. Others could be seen calmly standing and awaiting their fates.

People crowded in the lifeboats, huddled in their night clothes, shivering and listening to the cries of those still floundering in the 28th degree ocean water,

wondering if all this was just a bad dream.

Some crewmen and volunteers in lifeboats were busy trying to put distance between their boats

and the sinking ship. Others were trying to rescue swimmers. Others just watched others

A disaster of immense proportions was taking place out in the sea in the middle of nowhere,

with no known hope of rescue, although it was on its way. 1,503 lives, many still on the sinking ship, others
