What am I seeing right now? No way there's a guy out here at 2 a.m.

I held out the window and got no response.

And when I swung the car back around, the guy was gone. There was nobody there.

I was expecting it to be creepy, but I was not expecting to get something like this. Me being obsessed with history like how I am. I always

picture the battlefield and picture how things were during this war during the Civil War and how it would have sounded all the sounds of the cannons and the guns and the screaming and the fighting and fighting.

Hi everyone, my name is McKenna White and I'm one of the student fellows at the Civil War Institute of Gettysburg College.

If there's one thing that Gettysburg is almost synonymous with,

it's ghosts and ghost stories.

And today we're going to be taking a look at some of the earliest ghost stories

that appeared here at the Gettysburg

battlefield.

Now, the first ghost story actually appeared almost immediately following the conclusion of the battle here at

Iverson's Pitts. Now on the first day of battle Iverson's brigade came from

over here and rushed across this field meeting union troops on the top of

this hill by the stone wall and they faced almost total devastation especially in this dip as you see right behind.

It was a little after 10 p.m. and we went through a fog bank and there were at least a dozen

Union soldiers marching with their muskets or with blank expressions on their face.

Decided to take you guys out for a little nighttime car tour.
