For any young Caps fan listening to this podcast in the car with your parents or maybe even the parents who were about my age, mid to late 40s, kind of remember those fun 80s teams.

There were some good 90s teams.

And then the last, you know, 12 years or so, the OV generation totally changed the way you look at this franchise up to them raising the Stanley

Cup but there were some dark early days really dark days in the early 70s when this team first

came into existence they were so bad they lost four games season of 74, 75, by 10 or more goals.

Four times they lost by 10 or more goals.

We're going to talk to someone who played on some of those early teams and actually walked

away from hockey a year before his contract ended because he had just

is now the final few days, really, before Training Camp opens.

By the time you're listening to this, we will be inside a week of Training Camp actually opening.

The 12th of September is Media Day.

That's a Thursday.

A week from now, Friday, the 13th, they will be on the ice for the start of training camp,

and then the first preseason game is on September 16th, a Monday night at home. So the season's

almost here, but before we start looking forward, and we're going to have plenty of interviews

with the players, the coaches leading up to the start of the regular season, we're going back in time.
