My guest, writer, director, composer, Ben Zyland reminds me I first met him at the Hampton's Film Festival.

Was it five years ago now?

Probably, yeah, must have been.

Yeah, well, he's been a little busy since then.

Taking the youngest ingenue ever to go up the red carpet at Cannes and being in the prize-winning movie at Sundance this year.

The film, of course, is Beasts of the Southern Wild, which we just won the camera door at Ken.

Grand Prize at Sundance and the cinematography and the feel of the movie, because it reminds me, and I'm sure you've heard

this a bunch of times of this sort of weird cross between Burton of Dreams and Drywood,

these less blank documents. People bring this up all the time, I mean, drywood, no one's

ever brought up drywood to me. I brought up drywood to other people, though So that's, that's pretty crazy because that was, that was the movie that we watched as a template

for, uh, cinematography and camera movement and, um, color and everything. That was, that was the one.

There's a shot of all those part of yours. The revel was in the back, basically on the bed of the truck, I can't look, think about your movie, not think about the smaller shots.

I mean, that was where we,

we mean that whole,

the van with the,

with the cage of musicians inside of it,

we stripped right out of drywood.
