| 0:00.0 | Hey, what's going on guys? Welcome back to the Jeremy Scott Fitness podcast and radio show. |
| 0:04.3 | Today we are talking about intermittent fasting. What is it? Is it for you? Maybe it's an option, |
| 0:09.8 | fat loss, and kind of everything in between. So a quick backstory, intermittent fasting is what I |
| 0:15.9 | personally done, my eating style or my lifestyle, if you will, for probably the past, let's say, 10 years now |
| 0:22.6 | at this point. It's saved me in more ways than one. I'll touch on that kind of throughout this, |
| 0:28.0 | but I think it's been the easiest way for me to eat and stay lean and healthy through the last 10 |
| 0:33.8 | years. And it's less to manage, which for most of you guys who are busy, I think that's |
| 0:37.2 | probably the easiest way to go about eating. And two sense is i think most americans who are |
| 0:41.6 | awake and eating less as opposed to awake and eating more hours in the day are overall going to be |
| 0:47.3 | leaner healthy and happier and basically they have less chance to fuck up throughout the day in terms |
| 0:51.9 | of their eating so what that said to break it down simple, most of you guys are familiar at this point, intermittent fasting |
| 0:57.6 | is nothing new. It's been around for ages. But for you guys, it's nothing more than a fasting |
| 1:02.8 | structure in a time format each day. So that means basically for you guys, the most popular is probably |
| 1:07.7 | like kind of the 16 hour window. So mean you'll be fasting or not eating for any ranges from 16 hours to 36 hours depending on the format you choose and they'll have |
| 1:16.3 | various benefits some people obviously fast for much longer than 36 hours to me i find that a little |
| 1:22.0 | bit crazy but hey something works for everyone for me personally the longest i probably go without |
| 1:26.9 | eating food is about a |
| 1:28.1 | 24 hour window, sometimes a little bit more. But on average, even if you're fasting for 24 hours, |
| 1:33.6 | it means I'm still eating in the same day. So what I mean is, let's say Monday, I've stopped eating |
| 1:38.6 | at, let's say 6 p.m. I would start eating again at Tuesday at 6 p.m. So technically I'm fasting for 24 hours, but I'm still eating every single day in terms of at least the way that I think of it. So if nothing else, you guys think of interval training like when you work out. Intermitt fasting is basically interval training in terms of when you eat. So again, the most common example people we have, and we just started a fasting program, they're actually coming to an end here we did a little 28 day fasting for fat loss challenge and we gave them a few protocols to follow and the most common |
| 2:06.6 | for people is they kind of eat between that noon and 8 p.m. window then they had fast for the remaining 16 hours a day |
| 2:13.4 | so they'd only eat between that 8 hour window so meaning they only consume food between noon and 8 p.m. |
