Hi, it's Andy here and welcome to Radio Headspace and welcome to Thursday morning.

So I don't know if you have children yourself or whether you have nieces or nephews or

cousins, whatever it might be, but there is a particular time in a child's life where

they're really dialed into what they would like to become.

And I think a lot of that's fed by us as adults, you know, what do you want to be when you're

older?

I want to be an astronaut.

I want to be a famous football player or kind of whatever it might be.

As we've been having those conversations, it's struck me kind of how that very often

doesn't leave us in life, the idea of becoming, the idea of wanting to be a certain person.

In fact, we love labels as human beings.

I feel like we almost seek them out, whether it's through our career, whether it's through

our personal life, even sort of in forms of religion or spirituality or whatever that

might be.

In fact, even that very word, spirituality.

It is really interesting, you know, in many ways, if you kind of were to dig into that

area of life, we could say it's about sort of letting go.

It's about giving up.

It's about giving up becoming, becoming more comfortable with being.

And yet, even then, we want to take on this label of, I'm a very spiritual person or,

you know, I'm really into spirituality.

And I guess in some ways, you know, we could say, well, that's just semantics.
