Iran and Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon that

Why, it seems insanely dangerous.

Here are some thoughts as Trento Parsi, Executive Vice President

to the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, and an expert on Middle East politics.

He was born in Iran, but his family moved to Sweden to escape political repression.

His father had the distinction of being jailed by both his Shah and the Ayatollah.

He's got several books to his name, most recently losing an enemy, Obama, Iran, and the Triumph of Diplomacy, published in 2017 by Yale University Press.

Israel's attack in Damascus the other day that killed several top Iranian military figures at its embassy.

It was the latest iteration of an old conflict.

They've been doing these assassinations for some time now.

But they've also been attacking Syrian soldiers. They killed what 36 of them the other day.

This looks like a serious escalation. What do you think Israel is up to here?
