Summary

God’s divine order of the tabernacle intentionally begins with two pieces of brass. Brass is a picture of God’s judgment, and the path to God begins by addressing sin through judgment, forgiveness, and cleansing. The brazen altar is a preview of the cross where our sin is judged and atoned for, and the brazen laver is the place of cleansing that follows forgiveness. Recognition and repentance of sin are essential before we can fully receive Christ’s sufficiency. Join Scott Pauley's study through Scripture this year. tabernacle furniture, I think it's very significant that when God begins the furniture

moving from the outside in, he begins with two pieces of furniture in the outer courtyard

that were both made of brass.

Now, we'll look at them individually,

but let me show you something about what the two have in common.

1:23.3

Because in the outer courtyard,

1:25.6

approaching to that tent of meeting, you come first of all to

what is known as the brazen altar. And then, just beyond the brazen altar, just before you go

1:36.6

inside the tent from out of the outer courtyard, there was a brazen laver. Now, the brazen altar is exactly what it sounds like.

1:46.1

It was the place where the animals were brought, the blood was shed, and the animals were burnt.

1:52.3

It was the place where the burnt offering was given.

1:56.5

And we must begin there.

We'll come back to that thought in just a moment.

But just beyond it,
