Nitrift broadcasts here on AM radio in Seattle. But it's also because this place,

this foggy wet mysterious stretch of land settled between two giant mountain ranges,

holds the origin of so many of the topics we all can't stop exploring.

Whether it's Dogman, Sasquatch, or UFOs, the Pacific Northwest is linked to our current understanding of this phenomenon.

As there have been events that have shaped our cultural perception and definition of what these things could be,

mysteries that still remain. Tonight, we explore one such event.

It happened near a small island off of Tacoma, Washington 75 years ago,

and the ensuing investigation was so complex, so dynamic, that we'd need way more than an hour to even describe it.

It's twists and turns illustrate the origin of the modern UFO.

You know, two men attempted to encapsulate the mystery of this event,

and highlight what they felt were some of the most important elements of the case in an award-winning short film,

The Mori Island Incident.

There are also leading up efforts for a whole series of interactive and commemorative events here in the Pacific Northwest,

and one of them will join us tonight to talk about the incident, their film, and the events happening in which I will be present at, actually.
