Summary

Beeble is a regular old caterpillar, except for one tiny little thing: he has NO intention of going through the BIG CHANGE. Will Beeble ever turn into a big, beautiful - oof, a studio spider has just sent me another terse email. I must attend to this. You'll just have to listen to the story and find out. If you LOVE this story, please SHARE IT with all caterpillars (especially those wearing boots) and with YOUR FRIENDS. Many listeners around the world have learned about the podcast from a friend who loves it. And if you happen to have an Apple device, leave a review in Apple Podcasts! If your tiny person wants to share a story they've written, please send photos or recordings of it to rhea@littlestoriestinypeople.com. I LOVE to see their artwork, stories, and anything else they'd like to share. BIG THANKS to the listeners who provided sound effects used in the story: CORA and SOPHIE! This is Ria. Welcome to Little Stories for Tiny People.

When I was 16 years old, I babysat for a family with two adorable tiny people. One was a

sweet one-year-old boy who became very angry at bedtime and the other was his four-year-old

0:33.0

sister who had a gorgeous halo of curls. One night when I was babysitting, I had turned

0:41.7

off the TV and faced with a four-year-old who seemed to desperately want me to do something

0:50.6

interesting. I made up a story on the spot just for her. I had never done that before. The

1:02.7

story was about a caterpillar's journey to become a butterfly. Not that much happened in the

1:11.1

story and I have to say it was pretty predictable, but the little girl loved it. And I thought,

1:21.1

okay, wow, that was a success moving on. But there would be no moving on. She wanted to hear

1:32.4

the story again. And again, every time I saw her after that, she asked me to tell her the

1:40.9

butterfly story. So I did. I told her the same story many times. It never got old for her.

1:52.2

Years later, when I had the idea to make this podcast, my memory of that little girl came

2:00.5

rushing back. And it gave me the assurance that, yes, this is something children will love.

2:08.9

So I wanted to pay homage to that very first story with a new story about a caterpillar.

2:18.5

And this story, well, I made it just for you. It's called Beable, the caterpillar, and the big

2:29.3

change. Let's get to it. Take it away, David. Remember, there are no pictures. Yeah, to

2:37.8

imagine the pictures of your mind. Imagine them however you want. Let's go.

Beable stuck his feet in the air and pulled on his shoes. There we go. One shoe, two shoe,

2:59.4

three shoe, four shoe, five shoe, six shoe, seven shoe, eight. Oh, this could take a while.

3:08.9

Sixteen. There we go. Beable finally had all of his tiny shoes on his tiny little feet.

3:19.2

He flipped himself over and began walking along a rock. Beable was a caterpillar, a very happy

3:27.6

caterpillar. He liked his life and especially liked his stage of life. He liked his feet and the way
