| 0:32.2 | If you ever have those moments as a parent and the kids are in bed and you're thinking, |
| 0:36.1 | it feels like we could have had a little bit more connection. I might have, you know, prayed or something for them. Well, |
| 0:42.4 | I'm John Fuller along with Dr. Danny Werta, who heads up our parenting team. And Danny, |
| 0:47.2 | the bedtime can be an excellent opportunity for us as parents to kind of reset and offer |
| 0:53.1 | spiritual encouragement to our kids. |
| 0:55.3 | Oh, it is. It's very imperfect many times with their kids. And we say that a lot on the show |
| 1:01.0 | that things just don't go perfectly. But it is a tremendous opportunity for us to reflect on the |
| 1:08.0 | day, to have some time in God's word. I know early on when our kids were |
| 1:12.5 | really little, we went through the children's Bibles, we would read that. I learned some |

| 1:32.6 | early on as we tuck them into bed, and we still continue to this day as adult kids talking about, |
| 1:39.3 | hey, let's pray before you go to bed. And that's just a rhythm, a habit we have had in our home. And it offers an |
| 1:45.3 | opportunity to talk about some of the worries, some of the anxieties that you've had throughout the day and what's coming the next day. We had a lot of moments with our kids where they brought up, I'm worried about this, or I'm worried about that, or can we pray about this? Yeah, yeah. And the point is be intentional. You don't have to be perfect, but be intentional. Well, let's go ahead and hear now a conversation from Focus on the |
| 2:05.3 | Family with Jim Daly. On that show, Jim spoke with Justin Early, who shared pretty transparently |
| 2:10.9 | about how he lost his cool with his sons one night, and here he is sharing more of what he learned |
| 2:16.3 | after that situation. Now, you mentioned the idea of bedtime liturgy. Now, people may not even realize. Liturgy for many people, you put on a robe and you strike incense and you're humming. That's not what we're talking about. You're talking about a rhythm of life. And this was your pastor that made this suggestion. What do you tell you? Yes. So into that moment of grace came a moment of community, which I think is really important |
