The Lord Jesus Christ perhaps told more stories in his preaching than any preacher or teacher in history.

And yet, he was more than a storyteller.

He was a truth teller. Everyone enjoys a good story. The Lord Jesus understood that. He was a master communicator. He loved to use this parabolic language. And yet, he wasn't simply entertaining people

to listen to or to remember no he was conveying truth to them as we've walked

through mark chapter 4 we've been looking at a number of these stories that

Jesus has told he began with the most important and that was the story of the

sower and the seed and the soils.

And then he talked to us about a candle under a bushel.

And then he talked to us about receiving seed into good ground and then allowing it time to bring forth fruit.

And now he gives one more, Mark chapter 4 in verse 30, and he said,

Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God?

Or with what comparison shall we compare it?

It is like a grain of mustard seed,

which, when it is sown and the earth,

is less than all the seeds that be in the earth. But when it is sown, it groweth up and becomeeth greater than all herbs
