Summary

Rob Dousa is the founder of the Independent Strengths Building Consulting. Growing up in an Abusive household, Rob found his calling working with Young people who have perceptions of low self-worth and having a hard time fitting into the school system. His journey includes being the Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs intervention program manager for the Oakland unified school district. He has worked with thousands of teens, many of whom the school and judicial system deemed a lost cause or castoff. Rob’s approach is about seeing the best in people, focusing on their strengths and passions, to identify and believe in a bright future. 0:06.7	welcome. My name is Sam Lamott. I'm a teen dad, X-Methed College Dropout. I claim no moral,

0:51.8	my interests in the people I wanted to talk to has changed slightly.
0:56.8	I really want to talk to some of the really cool, sincere, kind, charitable, compassionate
1:03.7	humans that I've met along the way personally.
1:07.5	A lot of these people aren't going to be people you know or people who have something to sell you,
1:13.6	but they are good examples of one way to live during this lifetime.
1:18.4	And it might be because I'm spending more time off social media, but I have been finding
1:23.0	myself more interested in the people I talk to in the grocery store than influencers or authors,
1:30.1	amazing people. There are celebrities and stars who I love. A lot of them have been on this show.
1:35.2	There are others who I would love to have on this show one day, but I just feel a calling to talk to
1:40.8	people living regular lives, figuring out how to pay their bills, be parents to their
1:47.3	children, and participate in the world at the level I participate in, which is another human
1:51.9	on the planet, trying to get by. When I started thinking about who I wanted to have on the show,
1:57.1	the answer is people I've gotten to know personally over the years who are not influencers.
2:02.5	Some of them might not have websites or programs to sell you or books that you can read.
2:08.7	But people who I have grown to admire, people have played some role in my life.
