Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for,

especially a friend of mine named George who's going through a difficult time.

Now today we meditate on the need for beauty and why entertainment is not beauty and I want to encourage you to read a book entitled

Beauty what it is and why it matters by John Mark Maravale.

Now beauty is the recognition of some important spiritual truth in material form.

Like the way the story of the prodigal son expresses the mercy of God,

or how the sacred heart of Jesus pierced by our sins and for our salvation

is the chief expression of the love of the Redeemer for us,

for the Count of Monte Cristo the way it expresses the power of divine providence and hope. Now as humans we are a composite of body and soul.

We are embodied spirits. So we wish to see immaterial that is spiritual truth and goodness embodied and beauty

brings deep truth and goodness to us in physical form. That's what all art seeks to do. We were made

for truth and goodness embodied in sight, sound,

sound, taste, touch, and smell.

And there are three forms of beauty.

Patterns that are expressed in music, dance, and decoration, functionality manifest in architecture and culinary, and representation through stories and pictures.

Beauty. through stories and pictures. Beauty is about bringing you to the heart of reality,

to the heart of God through your five senses.

Our Father who art in heaven, hollow it be your name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
