Liverpool's first preseason game is done.

You'll all be pleased to know that I've taken this so seriously

that I have put a t-shirt on to record this video

because yeah, that's how I spent most of today,

because the weather has been absolutely glorious in the northwest.

So slightly more professional coverage across the channel from steat and errol and i'm sure

dan and chloe as well um but i just wanted to give a few thoughts on the game and as ever with preseason

games everything should always be taken with a pinch of salt i think it should always be as enjoyed

or enjoyed or enjoyable as much as possible now how possible that was going to be in the wake of the passing of Diogo Ziotto was always in question.

The fact of the game even went ahead was really up in the air at one point earlier on in the week.

But it did.

And I just want to kick things off really by saying how utterly wonderful I thought it was handled.

The tributes, the Preston Captain, laying the floral tributes in front of the Liverpool fans.

I'm not ashamed to say, I had another little cry when the singer can't help falling in love.

And then obviously you'll never walk alone and you could see how emotionally affected

people were in the stands as well.

So many banners.

The singing of Diogo's song on the 20th minute

that lasted basically 10 minutes that followed,

leading to a crescendo a few minutes in

where all the Preston fans were joined in
