Now hello, welcome to another episode of Pop Bear Hikes.

I'm feeling more now, now I didn't get to go hiking this weekend, unfortunately.

But I was helping mushroom man get his car ready for his next cross-country adventure.

He's fully vaccinated after our interview with Frank, he's like, I'm ready to go, I'm ready to

head west. So that's what we did and hopefully we'll be able to put some material together to post

on YouTube of how that's coming along. We've made some changes, made his sleeping

situation a little better in the car and hopefully made him a little bit more organized.

Now this week we're going to talk about a tip. Now a tip is going to be the 10 essentials

or but I sometimes call the 10 plus because the truth is we all have one or two

items that we personally feel are essential to bring us bring with us when we go hiking.

So let's start with a map and then a compass to separate items on our list of 10 essentials.

But before I move on from these two, let me just say know how to use them. Don't just throw

them in your bag, know how to use your map and compass because they're worthless if you don't.

You need to take some time. There's plenty of YouTube's out there on how to use a map and

compass. You don't need to be a professional and expert at this. Just enough that if you get

lost, you get to a trail junction, you're just not sure to make a ride or a left turn. You are

able to take your map out with your compass and determine what direction you need to be heading in.
