Hi, my name is John Kim and I'm a therapist who went through his own

0:06.7

rebirth. I share my feelings and revelations. I believe in casual or

0:11.0

clinical and with you instead of at you I come unrehearsed on

0:15.9

purpose because self-help doesn't have to be so complicated. I am finally out of

0:21.8

the closet. No that's not what I mean. I mean literally. I was

0:27.4

podcasting in the closet because I have a child now and it was the only quiet place in the house.

0:35.0

So my recordings can be better for you.

0:38.4

But I'm out because I need to move around.

0:41.8

I can't just be in one place I think that's why I could never

0:45.2

have an office I just I have to be out in the balance so now I am

0:49.4

podcasting in the

0:55.0

glass windows so there's this beautiful view and I just like the way it makes me feel

1:00.0

I used to dream about doing videos and podcasting like really high up in like a glass cube like a like a I guess an office but not really an office but like some kind of cool lofty kind of thing and I'm not saying that this is it but it kind of is like there's a view of the hills and it's gorgeous and I'm only two stories up but here's a thing and here's why it's important.

1:28.7

Whenever you have dreams of things and you want things when you start to give yourself things and it doesn't have to be

1:36.4

exactly that but when you realize that oh this is actually something that I really wanted and not only logically but if you could drop it into your body and actually feel it,

1:48.0

I think there's power there. I think there's leverage. I think you're going to try to trace that feeling more and more, you know, and I think that as that happens, you start to feel like you've done something, like you've built something, or you've made it somewhere you know and so

2:04.0

listen I'm not saying that my dream has always been to do a podcast you know in a

2:11.5

glass loft in Glendale but as I was setting up for this

2:17.3

podcast I just had that revelation like oh I used to want to be in the glass cube and I saw like my logo and I wanted to look down at the

2:28.3

city and this is not quite that but it kind of feels like that. All right, let's talk about being with yourself first. So it's

2:38.0

been the flag I've been waving for I think the last two years and it's going to be hopefully the subtitle for my new book

2:48.1

Single on Purpose and I don't know if it's going to say a guide to being with yourself
