Now before there's rumors started, Pastor Jack is taking care of some very important

needed stuff tonight so I'm here with you so don't like I know sometimes people get

all crazy and start trying to guess or you know is he dying is he you know is he's meeting

with Trump and some secret mission so just to be clear he's not meeting with Trump

a message entitled be the church be the church a lot of people have a lot of ideas about

what church should be today right and no doubt as you some point in time in your life

went looking for a church you know you were looking for a church probably that I that

you would either fit in or you know various reasons of things you might look for so

the church sometimes just becomes a place that we go to have free babysitting we find

political allies it's a place where we can expand our business don't forget to put

a little fish on your business card it's a place where we've been told we could find

a good wife or a husband it's a place to come hang out with friends but my question

for you tonight before we pray is do you come to church for what you get out of it or

what you can give to it what do you come to church for let's pray father we come before

you tonight in Lord hope to answer these questions through your word and to realize

what the church really is sometimes we look at the church and think it's a building it's

a location that somehow there's a competition going on between churches some churches may

help to feed that idea by putting thermometers out front it may feel like we're one church

and against other churches but the reality is is that in the world there is only one church
