Israeli forces stepped up an offensive on Northern Gaza,

which they had retreated from five months ago.

Tanks rolled into Jabalia, a refugee camp,

while airstrikes killed around 20 Palestinians

and injured dozens more.

The military said that the operation was to prevent Hamas fighters from returning.

Meanwhile, Israel continued to expand its assault on the southern city of Raaffer, despite growing international condemnation.

The UN called for a full investigation after a vehicle belonging to the

organization was struck on the way to a hospital in Raffer on Monday,

killing at least one staff member and injuring another.

Anglo-American, a British mining giant,

rejected a revised takeover proposal from BHP, an Australian competitor.

BHP lifted its offer to $34 billion or $43 billion after Anglo-Americans board had chosen not to engage.

The deal would have given BHP a stronger hold on the copper mining market,

ahead of a potential crunch for the metal. Square Space, a web development company, agreed to a 6.9 billion dollar takeover deal with
