Aaron McManus and Irwin Raphael McManus. Good morning, Dad. How you doing?

I'm doing great. How are you doing? I'm doing well. Today, our verse is James 1-5. If any of you

lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

One, I love this particular promise. There are two promises in the Bible that God promises

to answer without condition. And one is when you invite Jesus into your life, you can be an absolute mess.

In fact, he expects you to be a mess because that's why we need him.

And so when we ask Jesus into our lives, we don't have to earn it and we don't have to be in a condition to deserve it.

Strangely enough, it's the same situation with wisdom. You would think that God would say,

you need to do these things for me to give you wisdom, or you need to earn the right to be given

wisdom. But actually, he says, if any of you lacks wisdom, which of course includes all of us,

and you should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault.

So he's saying, I want to give you my wisdom. And I want to give it to you generously.

And I'm not going to make it conditional. The moment you realize you've messed up, the moment you realize you've been

profoundly stupid, the moment you realize you've been a fool, you can actually go to God and go,

God, I need your wisdom and he'll give it to you without a condition or a standard you have to

live up to because you need it to get out of the mess you created.

I think I'm convicted by this verse.
