I don't mean pedals on your bike I'm talking about if guitar you have probably obsessed over petals at some point.

I don't mean petals on your bike. I'm talking about effects petals, the things that go in

between your guitar and the amp and you stomp on them on stage and they add some

sort of a different sound to your guitar. Now effects pedals can sound great but I actually

think the best guitar players can sound good with just a guitar and an amp. Let's ask

electric guitar kind of music on this episode and I'm excited to get into it.

You know I always have this running list going of songs that I might talk about on this

show but at some point I have to kind of decide,

all right, the next episode is going to be this song. I pick the song and I really sit down and I listen to it and I kind of hear it in a different way.

It makes sense, right? You know, I'm kind of thinking of thinking all right what am I going to

focus on what are the themes going to be what am I hearing what am I going to be

able to kind of pull out and tease out and highlight for people and it's cool because

it kind of puts me in the mind space that I hope that I'm putting listeners in when they

eventually listen. I hear so many things in each of these songs that I didn't

hear before. I didn't really notice or hadn't taken the time to make myself

realize that I was hearing hearing if that makes sense.

It's really just active listening. I think that's generally the accepted term for it and
