and many industries, have no future in insurance and capital is going to go directly to

the client. Well, we certainly seen examples of that in retail insurance.

Direct Lyme was founded in the UK in 1985 and the rise of the aggregators happened a decade later.

And of course, some of the largest European reinsurers have been working directly

with their insurance clients for decades, maybe even centuries.

But when it comes to complicated insurance covers, brokers are likely to have a vital role to play

for many years to come, although of course every one of them today knows that their business model

needs to shift from purely transactional role to providing advice to increasingly offering analytics and data.
