Now usually on this podcast we explore and dissect the history and the evolution of the

horror genre by looking at particular sub genres one series at a time.

We are currently in the middle of our eighth series exploring the evolution of the Vampire

movie and a new episode of our Vampire series will drop every Friday right here on this

But this is a little Halloween weekend bonus episode, a little special Halloween treat

for you all because this weekend saw the release finally here in the UK for one of my

favourite movies of the year.

This is Zach Kregger's incredible new horror film, Barbarian.

I saw Barbarian a few weeks ago and it really was one of the most fun cinema experiences

I've had in a long time.

It's a brilliantly fun and unexpected movie.

Now later I'm going to be joined by Becky Dark to discuss the movie in detail.

But first you're going to hear a little bit of my interview with the writer and director

Zach Kregger.

Now we do have a very very short spoiler free section of our interview which anyone can

listen to, but I will say right here at the top Barbarian is a movie that is best to go

into knowing as little as possible and if you can I would recommend going straight out

to watch the movie before listening to any of this bonus episode because honestly part

of the fun of Barbarian is its element of surprise.
