Summary

Episode 59 Barbara Nantais

In August, 1978, 15 year old Barbara Nantais was murdered in San Diego at Torrey Pines State Beach as she slept in her sleeping bag on the beach. The attack on her was brutal and sadistic. Barbara's 17 year old boyfriend James Alt was also attacked and barely survived. He was left to cope with four decades of PTSD. Meanwhile, a second murder on that same beach in 1984 of 14 year old Claire Hough displayed nearly identical clues, pointing to a possible serial killer. Two suspects were developed in that case via DNA, but both suspects died before either could face justice, and police to this point have not been able to connect both murders via physical evidence. James Alt discusses in this episode, the brutal attack that left his girlfriend Barbara dead, and him fighting for his life.
