It is Thursday, but it feels like, I don't know, Saturday, 10 times over here on the 18th of July.

Again, a lot to cover, kind of taking a different direction. I was going to go back to the, you know, summary of the assassination attempt and all the crazy information, but still with the convention ongoing and, you know, J.D. Vint arising ideas different things going on there's

foundational principles but as always not just in the abstract, but particularly in the concrete practical application to the life we live the policies we supposedly seek that I think are too important to ignore

So again, you know, we'll get back to our regular

programming next week. It's not every week that you have stuff like this going on.

It's kind of funny as I'm recording here. I'm seeing that Hulk Hogan is

scheduled to speak at the RNC tonight and who doesn't like Hulk? We all grew up with him.

And genuinely I We all the book, and genuinely, I'm literally not making fun out of it. I have nothing against it. I actually think it's a good idea. I just think it's funny because I've been saying all along that the Republican Party is like

Hulk Hogan and the WWE that at a time that we need Mike Tyson we're we're doing more Hulk

Hogan now that's not a rip on Hulk that was his job to entertain with wrestling,

but this is the real world. So I just think it's kind of ironic that in many respects

WWE is exactly what you're seeing

and exactly the problem.

So it's kind of a, you know, a nuanced, subtle, hilarious rip on the GOP, but there's no self-awareness that that's what they're about.

So yeah, you know, we're watching the convention. I'll comment on JD's speech, what JD is about, the general sort of mood and tenor of conservative commentators and thinkers or not thinkers and where we're

headed and all through the thesis today is really abstract national conservatism
