It is a deeply thoughtful book and definitely not just one for Jews, although, you know, I'm a Jew and I enjoyed it.

You know, does it have something to do with the importance of guilt in Jewish culture? I mean, why is this a big deal?

Yeah, I've been thinking about this a lot. Why does this come up over and over and over again in Jewish history and in American Jewish history? And I think it's two things.
