own phrasing, my own words, and do it my way. This is the John Taffer podcast. Shut it down. You know, it's funny, Corey. People think of me as like some rock and roll guy. I ran a troubadour during the punk rock days. You know, my new fear and black flag and Adam Ant, right? I'm a big classic rock guy. I love my Jimmy Hendrix and my cream. And, you know, I love Black Sabbath. And, you know, I love Ozzy. I love all that stuff. But I'm going to tell you something I've never really said publicly before. I'm a big back street boy fan. Okay. And I mean it. Back in a year 2000, when the Millennium album came out, my daughter was, I guess, about 10, 11 years old at the time. And she bought the

record. And I fell in love with that record. That is a great record. Every song in that record is

great. And of course, it became an incredible success. If I'm not mistaken, the Millennium

album by the Backstreet Boys, broke the record set by Garth Brooks to sell over a million copies

in one week. That's unbelievably impressive. So finishing my story, being a Backstreet Boy fan,

and I do have it on my phone. It's in my iTunes. And I listen to it every few months or so,

I'll pull it up and I'll listen to it. It's sort of good time music. I mean, who doesn't? Yeah, it's good time music. So about three or four years ago, I'm in New York at Sirius radio. And I'm about to go in to do some interviews at Sirius. And as I'm in the green room, Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys walks out of, I don't know if it was the Stern Studio or one of the studios in Sirius, and sees me and we see each other in the green room,

and we shook and we gave each other a hug, introduced ourselves. And we took a picture, which is on the wall here in the offices at Tafer Media. And I said to him with that, I mean, you got to come on my podcast one of these days and he said he would that was almost five years ago so it took all this

time but i got to tell you i'm really excited to have nick carter on this week's podcast and i'll tell you

why nick was a star at nine years old think about this at nine years old he was a star at 11 years old

he was offered a slot in the mickey mouse club from disney he joined the backstreet boys when he was a star. At 11 years old, he was offered a slot in the Mickey Mouse Club from Disney.

He joined the Backstreet Boys when he was 12 years old.

I mean, 12 years old, Corey, Nick Carter never went to high school.

Wow.

He was homeschooled.

He spent years on the road with the Backstreet Boys before they ever got the first record.

Since then, he's done acting, he's done dancing with the stars. He's made his own movies. The Backstreet Boys are on a huge resurgence. The residency here in Vegas was hugely successful. So I'm really excited. I got Nick Carter on our podcast this week. And there's so much I want to talk to him about. You know, from being a child start to the struggles that he's had as an adult with substance abuse at times,

his family, how he's lifted himself up. There's so much I want to ask Nick Carter. So when I come back,
