Summary

Heather “Foster” Kjollesdal has been touring with Metallica and the Rolling Stones for over 20 years! She’s the Dressing Room Coordinator by title (but so much more in reality) for both bands and that means she’s responsible for the backstage area and sets up everything from their personal dressing rooms to the band community rooms and catering to their show wardrobe and quick changes. Foster explains how she originally got the gigs, and what it was like meeting Metallica and the Stones for the first time. 0:16.4	so many great bands and artists touring this summer. Everybody's out and that's why I figured
0:22.0	it was a good time to have a good friend of mine on the show to give us a little behind
0:25.5	the scenes look. It would have takes to make, well, not just one of these mammoth tours, but two
0:31.2	of the biggest tours running smoothly. I'm talking to my friend Foster who works for both Metallica
0:38.2	and the Rolling Stones backstage. Her official title is Dressing Room Coordinator, but as you'll hear,
0:44.8	she does so much more than that. She's been with both bands for over 20 years. She's officially
0:49.5	full-time with Metallica, but she goes out with the stones as well as like what? Is you two not
0:53.9	hiring? She's a guy I work for you too as well. And Van Halen amongst many others. Foster is the
0:58.7	one responsible for setting up all the backstage rooms at each venue, nine separate rooms on the
1:04.4	Metallica tour, and 15 for the stones. That includes everybody in the bands, individual dressing rooms,
1:10.0	Big Jagger, James Hepfield, Lars Ulrich, Keith Richards, Plus Community Rooms, like workout rooms,
1:15.1	catering, warm-up rooms. She escorts the band to the stage every night and gets them post-show to go
1:20.4	back to the dress rooms. She makes sure they have everything they need before they hit the stage,
1:24.4	and everything they want the moment the show is over, including a cheese pizza for Lars Ulrich.
