Hunting and packing in the backcountry is fun until it isn't.

At some point you'll discover that while

backpacking everything you need on your own back offers ultimate freedom,

it does not provide ultimate capability.

There are just some places you can't access and some game animals that you can't

pack out when every pound has to be moved on your own back.

Now today folks I want to welcome a good friend of mine back to the show.

You've walked every above Timberline Ridge in Utah's Wasatch Mountain Range, is that correct?

I'd say pretty close. I mean, I would say Utah County, for sure south and then some of them up in Salt Lake

County and those kind of surrounding mountains, you know.

So I grew up, I grew up obviously in Utah County, and so that's been my playground, you know,

so.

Your home turf.

That's the home turf, yeah.
