recap podcast about reality dating shows like The Bachelor and other pop culture that makes us laugh, cry, and curse the patriarchy.

0:34.0

We can't live with these shows and we can't live without them, but we can break down every juicy moment and unpack all the weird messages these shows send us about love, sex, and dating.

Stop, drop, stop, drop, love and fire. Can you keep up? I like love.

Welcome to Love to See It, a podcast about big D's.

0:59.0

The biggest D's, specifically the big D's that are on television?

1:07.0

Yes, we love the big D's. We are talking today about the big D. USA is new, dating after a divorce show. The big D, I suppose, stands for divorce.

1:20.0

And it is hosted by the Bachelor at its very own JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rogers.

1:26.0

Before we get into all of that, the show's concept history, what we think about it, we just wanted to give a couple little Bachelor Nation news updates because there's been a lot going on, including the fact that Katie Thurston, former Bachelor at is going to be one of the stars of the new season of F Boy Island.

1:49.0

This is huge. I mean, it's a crossover moment. I was completely shocked when I heard this news. I know you're like, this is out of context, but then you remember F Boy Island is a show that was created by former Bachelor EP, you know, a gale.

2:05.0

I guess it makes sense, but it is giving me that feeling of when you're at a bar in New York, and you see someone that you went to high school in the Midwest, and you're like, no, they don't belong here.

2:17.0

And then you're like, oh, no, people I went to high school with also still exist in the world, and sometimes they're in New York. And that's Katie. She's still out there. She's still ready to make a fun dating show. And sometimes that's F Boy Island.

2:31.0

So that's what she's going to do.

2:33.0

So for those who haven't watched F Boy Island, as we said, was created by a long gale, it's hosted by comedian Nikki Glazer and the first two seasons aired on HBO Max.

2:44.0

But it was canceled by Max in December. And the CW picked up the show, which we were delighted by because we both really, really love F Boy Island.

2:55.0

So season three is currently in production. And I believe it's set to air on the CW in the fall. And Katie is going to be one of the three women leads of the season.

3:09.0

Yeah, the concept is like there are three women who are dating a pool of men who are half self identified F boys and half self identified nice guys.

3:20.0

The F boys are just there to win the women's hearts so they can win money at the end. The nice guys purport to be there for true love.

3:30.0

And it's the job of the three female leads to weed out the F boys and end up in a relationship with a guy who will not take the money instead of their hand at the end of the show.

3:45.0

So it kind of like gamifies the for the right reasons subplot of a show like the bachelor. It turns that into kind of the overt focus of the show and makes it into like a little treasure hunt or anti treasure garbage.

4:02.0

It's also lesser. Yeah, garbage on it's also a less earnest tone than the bachelor and the bachelor at which I actually think could be almost a better fit for Katie Thurston's personality.

4:14.0

Like she has our hands and stand up. This show is more of a collective comedy project. It's going to be interesting because we feel like we know her and I haven't had that experience with FYI.
