First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells. I'm going to Okay, so I want to organize this episode around a poem.

This is a poem, it's called The Jar I Am Becoming,

and it's by the poet Hafiz from the hand of poetry which is translated by

This poem was very meaningful to me when I got back from Burma.

I found myself in a bit of a wrestle between the deep spiritual exploration and practice that I was doing in the monastery and then coming back to the real world and being in the

seemingly mundane aspect of life, needing to make money, have a job, go back to school, etc.

And there was just this strong sense of dichotomy, like the real work, the important

work happens in the monastery and then the real life is sort of just a game.

That's how it felt in my mind at the time.

And there was something about this poem that really resonated with me.

And so I'll read it and I'll share why I think it's meaningful.

So it goes, the sky wheel turns us into dawn and fills creation again with color.
