It is summertime and there are cyclones, we call them hurricanes.

There's one large one heading perhaps for New Zealand after one large one pummel New Zealand.

Scott Maiman of CBS News is here to tell us about New Zealand's bad run of luck.

Scott, there are thousands of people still missing from the earlier cyclone.

Reported dead last time I checked was 11, but that number is not certain because of the missing.

What is now bearing down on New Zealand? And where is it now? Good evening to you.

G'day John. You would think New Zealand has some kind of curse or something at the moment.

Let's talk about this new cyclone bearing down on New Zealand at the moment.

If it does keep its car track, it's just swept through Vanuatu and the Pacific Islands.

Hit its south. Now of course cyclones, they've got a mind of their own.

It couldn't have been a turn west for east or back north, who knows.

But at this state, it was category four after earlier being seen as the category three cyclone

destructive winds. And this is a concern for the people of New Zealand.

As we've just mentioned, there was cyclone Gabriel that hit just a couple of weeks ago.
