To turn to breaking news out of California, the president of Stanford University, the all-powerful

Stanford of Silicon Valley is resigning, and I'm very careful now to use the language

that is used in the Los Angeles Times of announcement of this resignation.

The president has resigned. The statement here is the review found that the president of Stanford

had failed to correct mistakes in years old scientific papers and overseen labs that had

quote an unusual frequency of manipulation of data. I'm not exploring the details of the labs.

I'm looking at the concept of data manipulation, because Bob has an item up in behind-the-black right

now about, I believe, the same concern. Clinical trials, one of four are either fraudulent or unreliable.

How long has this been true, Bob? This is what's significant about this story. This researcher

in Great Britain in 2020 published an analysis of 500 medical clinical trials looking at their

raw data, and he found that one in four, that's 25 percent, one in four contained either fraudulent

or unreliable data that made the results worthless. Now, the key to this is that he and he

found this out in 2020, he published at that time, and in addition, he wrote all journal editors

that might get these peer review articles and warn them about this, and I should point out this

guy was an editor of his own journal, and he canceled a lot of papers that were going to publish
