To Australia and then to China,

we're looking right now at a relationship

between two extremely modern states in the Indo-Pacific. One, rich, resource-rich,

Australia, the other resource-poor China. They have a good working relationship over these last

years and indeed a great deal of wealth transfer from China to Australia.

Right now, the Prime Minister recently re-elected, Anthony Albanese,

is finishing a trip to China, and his remarks in Shanghai move me to welcome Gregory Copley,

editor and publisher of Defense and Foreign Affairs,

not only because it's the relationship between his native Australia and China,

but also because Australia is critical to the United States and to the free world

to maintain lines of communication and transportation back and forth across the end of Pacific

in the event of conflict in East Asia.
