Hi, friends. I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament and the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ, life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

Every single month this year, we are reading all four books in 30 days. So here we are at the end of our eighth month.

So proud of y'all. There are many of y'all who have listened all year and many, many of y'all who have listened all months. So well done, you.

Okay, so here's how it works as we finish up the book of John today. I'll read three chapters to you. You can listen or read along in your own Bible and then I'll print and that's it.

Today is August 30th, day 30 and I'll be reading John chapters 19 through 21 and this month today for the last time I am reading from the message.

John 19.

So pilot took Jesus and had him whipped the soldiers having braided a crown from thorns set it on his head through a purple robe over him and approached him with hailed king of the Jews.

Then they greeted him with slaps in the face.

Pilot went back out again and said to them, I present him to you, but I want you to know that I do not find him guilty of any crime.

Just then Jesus came out wearing the thorn crown and purple robe pilot announced here he is the man.

When the high priest and police saw him, they shouted in a frenzy crucify crucify pilot told them you take him you crucify him.

I find nothing wrong with him. The Jews answered we have a law and by that law he must die because he claimed to be the son of God.

When pilot heard this, he became even more scared. He went back into the palace and said to Jesus, where did you come from?

Jesus gave no answer. Pilot said, you won't talk. Don't you know that I have the authority to pardon you and the authority to crucify you?

Jesus said, you haven't a shred of authority over me except what has been given you from heaven.

That's why the one who betrayed me to you has committed a far greater fault.
