These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

That means it is going to be a complicated read. And as you may remember from March, the chronological order reading plan has a lot of pages.

So you are ready to get started on September 1st. I cannot wait. I'm so excited.

Okay, so here's how this works. First, we get to finish the book of John. So I'm going to read three chapters to you today.

You can listen or read along in your own Bible. And then I'll pray. And that's it.

So today is August 29th, day 29. And I'll be reading John chapter 16 through 18. And this month, I'll read from the message.

John 16. I've told you these things to prepare you for rough times ahead.

They are going to throw you out of the meeting places. There will even come a time when anyone who kills you will think he's doing God a favor.

They will do these things because they never really understood the father.

I've told you these things so that when the time comes and they start in on you, you'll be well warned and ready for them.

I didn't tell you this earlier because I was with you every day, but now I am on my way to the one who sent me.

Not one of you has asked, where are you going? Instead, the longer I've talked, the sadder you've become.
