0:00.0	Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four
0:06.2	books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories
0:10.4	of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, and the
0:15.6	miracles. Each month we read all four books in 30 days and we're going to finish up the
0:20.0	book of Luke today, which means we'll spend the last week of the month in the book of John.

0:42.7	August 23rd, day 23. And I'll be reading Luke, chapters 22 through 24. And this month I am reading
0:49.5	from the message. Luke 22, the feast of unleavened bread also called Passover drew near.
0:59.0	The high priest and religion scholars were looking for a way to do away with Jesus, but
1:03.6	fearful of the people they were also looking for a way to cover their tracks.
1:08.0	That's when Satan entered Judas, the one called Ascariot. He was one of the 12,
1:13.5	leaving the others he conferred with the high priest and the temple guards about how he might
1:17.4	betray Jesus to them. They couldn't believe their good luck and agreed to pay him well.
1:22.4	He gave them his word and started looking for a way to betray Jesus, but out of sight of the crowd.
1:27.8	The day of unleavened bread came, the day the Passover lamb was butchered.
1:31.8	Jesus sent Peter and John off saying, go prepare the Passover for us so we can eat it together.
1:37.4	They said, where do you want us to do this? He said, keep your eyes open as you enter the city.
1:43.1	A man carrying a water jug will meet you. Follow him home. Then speak with the owner of the house.
1:49.2	The teacher wants to know, where's the guest room where I can eat the Passover meal with my disciples?
