Today we're covering the killing of French noblewoman Frans Suez duchez duiselle. the Guinea on the evening of August 17th, 1847.

As the night time quiet set in over Paris, the Duke and Duchess duperlons retreated to their bedrooms,

separate ones as had been their habit for nearly a decade.

Down the hall from their chambers, the hotel's janitor, Jacques, settled into his cot in the dining

room, guarding the parlons silver against thieves.

So passed most of the night, until just before four in the morning.

At that point, Jacques left his post to hurry to his second job,

sweeping the floors of a Paris department store.

Still, the house stayed quiet.

The rest of the mansion's residence slept on in the faint light of the

wee hours, that is until 4.30 a.m. when a man led himself into the Duchess's bedchamber.

The room was lit up by a candle he carried.

The Duchess de Parlons, also known as Fanny, was afraid of the dark. As it turned out she had plenty to fear.
