Let's go back to Richmond, Virginia on the morning of August 16, 1912.

Two armed men, one on either side led Jenny down the hall.

It was strange. Just yesterday it had been her birthday. On the night she turned 17 years old, Jenny slept restfully, even though she knew she'd never see 18.

The next morning she rose when they told her to. She ate her

breakfast when they told her to, and when they opened that door at the end of the

hall and asked her to sit down in the last chair her body would ever know.
