This is Lorenzo and I'm your host here in the Psychedelic Salon.

So, well, I've obviously gone back on what I said before about retiring from these podcasts.

I could give you a dozen reasons why I'm back, but the truth is simple.

I've missed being here with you each month. Even though you might think that this is just a one-way broadcast,

for me it's much more than that.

Over the years, I've come to feel that a very real connection with you exists

out there on the other end of these words,

and missing that connection is what pulled me back.

So when I stepped away from this microphone, I thought it was time to leave the space and missing that connection is what pulled me back.

There are so many bright young voices out there right now who are carrying the torch forward

that I figured that the salon had already done its part

in preserving some of the early history of this so-called psychedelic resurgence.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that there still was something missing.

You see, the early days of this resurgence weren't being recorded and digitized the way things are now.

Whole pieces of our story, moments, movements, experiments,

they all risk being forgotten as the last few living connections to these stories fade away.

So I'm rebooting this as Salon 3.0, and its focus will be about filling in some of those gaps.
