Our Piedmont Park is getting itself a makeover.

And for some reason, Abby, you're upset by this?

I am so upset by this.

And maybe it's because I'm such a fan of a public transportation and progress that I'm just so angry that this is where our tax paying dollars are going to.

So it's going through TikTok where I get all my hard hitting news because I don't have

cable.

And I saw the urban Atlanta posted this video explaining like a $150 million project that's

going to Piedmont Park.

Atlanta's iconic Piedmont Park is in line to get a huge $150 million renovation.

Plans were just announced by the park's nonprofit to upgrade and expand many areas, which include,

first off, the addition of roughly five acres of new park space, taking over old parking lots

and buildings called the Commons, located on Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive,

which will include a brand new entrance plaza, playgrounds, concessions, and green space.

Other updates include the restoration of Lake Clara Mir with improved water quality

and a scenic boardwalk wraparound while six miles of new trails, ranging from asphalt paths

connecting to the Beltline to unique canopy walks and boardwalks along Clear Creek will link the existing park to the commons and better connect the surrounding neighborhoods in addition to new restrooms entrances food options pavilions courts for basketball volleyball and pickleball and major upgrades to paths and shaded seating throughout the park.

Who's asking for this? That's what I want to know. That's a lot of money. I am.

from using Midtown. Like, this is a green space. Like, people are going to hang out there no

matter what. Isn't that more reason to up? Yes.
