We are super excited today to introduce you guys to Eric Isaac. He is one of our board members and also just an all-around insanely helpful voice in this space. I want to give him the space to kind of tell all of the things that he's working on and doing right now because I won't even do it justice with all of the ways that he is contributing

to the conversation surrounding spiritual abuse and education around that. So Eric, welcome.

I'm so excited to have you here. Thank you so much for having me, Jane, Jana. I'm really excited

to be here. I guess I'll just jump right in and introduce myself. I am a professor in the religious studies

department, the communications department, and the honors college now at FIU. My area of research

specifically is Latin X spiritual abuse, mainly within Protestantism, but I'm like venturing out

into Catholicism and now I'm going into the other Abrahamic religions, but that's TBD. Some of the cool things I've been able to do,

at least as I know and I've read, I think I conducted the largest qualitative and quantitative

research on the topic of spiritual abuse within Latin ex-Protestism. And from that, I was able to

produce a thesis and now I'm working on getting that published in different journals. And I've

been part of creating the Christian study certificate at FIU, which isn't what it sounds like,

because you hear that and you're like, oh, no, it's pushing some sort of, you know, political

agenda or something like that. Like, no, this is a state
