We're going to go back to John Chapter 4.

John Chapter 4, and again, this is in continuation from Wednesday night,

and we're titling this message at the well again.

And we're going to go to this ancient well that was thousands of years old

even when Jesus was at the well and of course today it's even many more thousands of years old.

And most historians believe it still exists

and you can actually still go and visit

what is called Jacob's well.

So we're gonna go to John Chapter 4 and I'll start reading just a

couple of verses starting with verse one. It says in John Chapter 4, soon the

news reached the Jewish religious leaders known as the Pharisees that

Jesus was drawing greater crowds of followers coming to be

baptized than John. Jesus heard what was being said and abruptly left Judea and

return to the province of Galilee,

verse four, and he had to pass through the Samaritan territory.

Jesus arrived at the Samaritan village of Saiker near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph long ago

where he'd by his long journey. He sat on the edge of Jacob's well. He sent his disciples into the village to buy food, for it was already afternoon.

Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her,

Give me a drink of water.

Surprised, she said this. And of course she's surprised because Jews had absolutely no

dealings with the Samaritans. The question is why? in all of its many forms
