I have some pretty wonderful memories of all the times I visited the fair.

My childhood hometown hosts the Betton County Fair every single summer.

I went every year from probably the first grade until my senior year of high school.

In my earliest years, I would go with my mom and spend a couple of hours on the rides, meet up with friends,

and settle in to have fair food and listen to live music.

Eventually, the fair included performances of my singing and dancing group Sunshine Generation,

which you can Google, and horse shows with 4-H.

And then, fifth grade hit, and I was allowed to go solo with my friends.

Throughout my middle school years, it was a very coveted time in my life.

My mom would send me with some money and I would spend the evenings with my best friends, riding the zipper with my crush,

seeing who could do the most rides without getting sick, flirting with people from other schools,

and of course, freaking each other out with creepy stories of carnies, fatal accidents on rides, and kids that went missing.

Little did I know at the time that those creepy stories weren't necessarily untrue.

In the Pacific Northwest, we have many mysterious disappearances, in particular missing children.

Two notorious missing children have eerie similarities between their cases, though they are completely unrelated.

Both kids were 14 years old, both spoke to their mother on the phone right before going missing,

and both disappeared from the local fair.

Today, I'd like to tell you about the disappearances of Jeremy Bright, who went missing in 1986, and Misty Copsie,

who went missing in 1992.

Fourteen-year-old Jeremy Dolan Bright was a friendly, popular, and athletic kid.
