from Amateur Traveler. Let's talk about sailing in Greece.

Welcome to the show, this is Chris and this is one of those episodes that I'm doing

without a guest because it is from my own travels and this is a trip that has been a

long time in the making.

Years ago, more than a decade ago, my wife decided that for one of her even-numbered birthdays,

one of those round-numbered birthdays, she wanted to do a cruise in the Greek Isles with friends of ours.

And when we set a cruise, she had in mind a small boat cruise.

And we honestly didn't really know what that meant exactly. We didn't know how small a boat was a

small boat. Was this a yacht we were talking about or was it a small cruise

ship or whatever? How many people did she want to have on board?

What places did she want to go?

It was fairly undefined, and that's probably one of the reasons that

round birthdays came and went, birthdays that end in five came and went, our kids got married,

we have one grand kid and still we hadn't pulled this trip off.

Of course there was a pandemic in the middle of that also.

But this year, we've been talking a lot on the amateur traveler

about Greece, and one of the reasons we've

been talking about it, well two reasons.

One is that Greece is a really fascinating destination and I'm a big fan of Greece. I'm a fan of the food, I'm fan of the history,

fan of the scenery. So it's a wonderful country to go to and we haven't covered it in a while.
