Amateur Traveler episode 417. Today the amateur traveler talks about a

destination so remote that the British decided it was a good place to store

Napoleon as we go to St Helena.

I know that I should be heading home but maybe not maybe not

to the amateur traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen. Before we get

into this week's interview I do have two news stories for you. In the first one you

may have thought they couldn't squeeze any more passengers onto a plane, but companies

at the recent Aircraft Interior's Expo are betting you are wrong.

One company Zodiac Aerospace unveiled a new design set of three seats with one passenger facing

forward and one facing backwards and then another facing forward. The seat bottoms

also flip up like seats at the ballpark to let passengers board and exit faster. I like that second idea but the idea

of facing your seat mate for the duration of a flight, a little less so. In the

second news story, San Jose International Airport performed an unscheduled security audit this week.

Okay, that's not really what they did. They had a teenager instead, run away from home, climb

a fence and bored the landing gear of a jet.

Fortunately, he did not die, which is very likely when you try and do that in an

unpressurized jet. I mentioned this was an unscheduled audit of their

security system. You'll be glad to know that security cameras

did catch him in the act, but no one noticed until he had already landed.
